The National Center for Health Marketing's Global Health Odyssey Museum
The 2009 CDC Disease Detective Camp (DDC) is an academic day camp for students who will be high school juniors and seniors during the 2009-2010 school year. The Maryland Summer Centers engage gifted and talented students entering grades 3-12 in unique summer programs at a number of locations across the state. UMBC Upward Bound Math And Science Summer Residential Program
This federally funded program is designed to introduce high school students to mathematics and science careers. All expenses for field trips, meals, and housing for the six week summer program is paid for by the U.S. Government. Students must be in 9, 10, or 11th grades with minimum 3.0 GPA and be low-income or first-generation college status.

University of Maryland Science Immersion Program
The Summer Science Immersion Program consists of one-week sessions available during the month of July from 9:00-4:00 daily. This program is for rising high school juniors or seniors who are interested in forensic science, biomedical science and animal behavior, and Physiology. Last year there were over 200 applicants for 100 slots and the average WGPA of students admitted to the program was 3.83. Call 301-404-3353. Required: essay, transcript and teacher recommendation. University of Maryland Young Scholars Program
Targets rising juniors and seniors who have a strong academic record and a desire to excel to experience college life while earning three academic credits. 14 courses are offered for three weeks from July 12 – 31, 2009.
MCPS Summer Internship Program
Current 10th and 11th grade students can apply to participate in the MCPS Summer High School Internship Program that runs for five uninterrupted weeks. National Space Club Scholars Program
NASA announces their 2009 Space Club Scholars Program for rising Juniors who have demonstrated high academic success and have an interest in space science or engineering as a career. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and have permanent year-round residence within commuting distance of Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD or Wallops Island, VA. This six week program provides first-hand work experience in a research environment to inspire the next generation of NASA explorers. Students will receive a $1,000 stipend to offset transportation costs and meals. Applications are available in the College and Career Center. The deadline to apply is February 17, 2009.
Natural Resources Careers Conference
This seven-day conference is designed for Maryland high school students interested in pursuing a career in forestry and natural resources. Students will learn about working in the field of natural resources, the education required and career options. The cost of the program is paid by the country Forestry Boards. Application deadline: April 30th. The week-long conference will take place in Garrett County from July 19 - 25th.
NIH Summer Research Program For High School Students
Twenty-five students will be selected for the Summer Research Program for high school students interested in careers in the Biomedical sciences. Student will work eight weeks in the summer with an assigned advisor and receive a stipend based on grade level.
