Parents who need an interpreter to help them to communicate to teachers or other school staff regarding their child's education should let school staff know in time to arrange for an interpreter. If calling the school or an MCPS office, parents should learn to say in English, "I am a parent. I speak (name of your language in English). I will hold for an interpreter." The school or MCPS office has immediate access to telephone interpretation services to communicate in almost any language represented in MCPS.
ESOL parent outreach staff support ESOL parents in understanding MCPS and accessing information and services to support their children's success in school. More....
