Investigations into Mathematics

 

Investigations into Mathematics is an enriched course for mathematically accelerated students who have successfully completed the Kindergarten to Grade 5 mathematics curriculum as well as the indicators of Middle School Mathematics Course A and the majority of the indicators of Middle School Mathematics Course B by the end of either Grade 5 or Grade 6. Students successful in this course will take Algebra 1 the following year.

This course is designed for students with exceptional talent in mathematics. The units of study include Patterns and Set Theory, Relations and Finite Operational Systems, Algebra Foundations, Real Number System, Data Analysis, Language of Algebra, Functions and Graphs, and Investigations of Three-Dimensional Geometry.
