- The WorldFactbook, 1997 from the CIA Contains maps,flags, economic, geographic, government and population data for every country. Update for 1997 is much easier to use.
- Country Reports on Human Rights Abuses U.S. State Department Reports.
- Country Commercial Guides Written description of every country's economy by the Department of Commerce. Writing is on a high level.
- Country Studies Handbook An extensive outline of the culture, history, and current situation of every country by the Library of Congress. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page to get the list of countries.
- E-Conflict A simplified version of the CIA Factbook, contains maps,flags, government, economic, geographic, and population data for every country.
- The Electronic Atlas Library Includes basic U.S. demographic information laid out on maps. Also includes specific information for major metropolitan areas:

- Confluence.Org A very cool site that attempts to display a picture wherever a line of longitiude has a "confluence" with a line of latitude around the world. Has over 6,000 pictures from around the world.
- Geographic Learning Site from the US State Dept. An instructional resource for teaching world geography and international affairs to K-12 students.
- Color Landform Atlas of the United States
- Econ and Data Links Includes easy to read population statistics.
- Educational Resources for Cartography, Geography and Related Disciplines Despite its title, this web site has some tremendous map-related activities for K-3 and 4-8. Sponsored by the United States Geological Survey.

- Geo-Mysteries Create your own or view others' mysteries about hometown location.
- Topography of the World This game tests your geography knowledge as you pilot a helicopter around the world. Does not work with some browsers.
- Where? Geographic Place Tutorial and Games Basic place geography games and tutorial. Requires a Java capable browser. Probably best viewed with Netscape 4.0 or Internet Explorer 4.0
- The World At Night Point and click on lights from cities to find the name of the city. Currently(10/31/97) only U.S. and Middle Europe.
