1)  How do I contact the Curriculum Training and Development Team to get assistance and support?

2)  What is the best training or staff development for my school? 3)  Does the Curriculum Training and Development Team work with individual teachers and staff members?

1)  How do I contact the Curriculum Training and Development Team to get assistance and support?

Members of the Curriculum Training and Development Team can work with the instructional leaders at a school to determine the school’s specific needs.  A long term plan of action is collaboratively developed to support the implementation of curriculum and system wide initiatives.  Research shows that the most effective professional development is sustained, job-embedded, and collaborative.  Please e-mail or phone any of the staff development content specialists on the team for consultation and more specific information or assistance.  Requests for school support can be made directly to Dr. Carl Baskerville, director

2)  What is the best training or staff development for my school?

Every single school has unique characteristics and needs that should be addressed and considered when a support plan is created.  A planning discussion is necessary to identify the appropriate support required - individual coaching, collaborative planning of professional development, consultation with leaders, or a formal training. Our goal would be to make sure that the support provided builds the capacity of staff and is tailored to the specific needs of your school, a specific cohort of teachers, and will positively effect the students in the classroom.  By working together to create a plan, we can ensure ongoing support that matches the school improvement plan and is an integral part of job-embedded professional development.

3)  Does the Curriculum, Training, and Development Team work with individual teachers and staff members?

Our mission is to support collaborative, job-embedded professional development.  Because of that the team primarily works with collaborative groups of professionals in order to ensure that the capacity of the entire professional learning community in the school is expanded.  By raising the capacity of all staff, the instructional improvements and system initiatives are more likely to become a part of effective daily practice.  In general, if an individual teacher or staff member has questions, concerns, or needs support, he or she would first work with the instructional leaders in the building.  If you are in need of assistance, please contact us.  We can work with you to help determine the best source of  support.
