Watt's Up? Power to Save poster contest entries are due February 20, 2009. Energized artists in elementary and middle schools create a peer-to-peer energy conservation message in flat media format to the SERT Program, 2096 Gaither Road, Suite 200.
Congratulations to the schools in Montgomery County that Maryland Association for Environmental and Outoor Education will honor as new Maryland Green Schools on May 29, 2008. Chevy Chase Elementary School, Clarksburg Elementary School, East Silver Spring Elementary School, Oakland Terrace Elementary School, Piney Branch Elementary School, Poolesville High School, and Takoma Park Middle School.

The program is implemented by a SERT team, made up of a captain, students, teachers, parents, building managers and staff from the principals office. Schools practice environmental stewardship and implement energy saving strategies to earn quarterly awards.
