SERT is Reaching Out

to your school....

"It's your world...choose to conserve"

What's for lunch? .....SERT's "Reach Out Program"

SERT has been visiting high schools during their lunch periods to promote a culture of conservation through recycling and energy savings in our schools. SERT's "Reach Out Program" has already had lunch with seven high schools. This program is a great way to jump start an awareness of recycling for both the students and staff during a busy school day.

SERT will come out, set up a display table showing a centralized recycling station, SERT promotional material, and answer your questions.

If you are interested in SERT reaching out to your school, please invite us by contacting the SERT office @ 240-314-1090.

See you at lunch!

The program promotes efficient and responsible energy use in all Montgomery County Public Schools. The program is implemented by a SERT team, made up of a captain, students, teachers, parents, building managers and staff from the principals office. Schools practice environmental stewardship and implement energy saving strategies and active recycling programs to earn quarterly awards. teams receive activities and support to implement their ideas for energy and water conservation.

College Gardens Elementary School
creates "recycling monsters" by decorating boxes (recycled) to draw attention to recycling bins. Insert a recycling bin and the decorated boxes become "fun" recycling bins.

Way to go CGES!
