Here you can learn what The
Math Dude is
all about, what's going on with the show, and
its plans for the future.

answered here, send us an email at ITV@mcpsmd.org or

Q.
I'm
having trouble viewing the videos on-line. What
can I do?
A.
The
Math Dude is viewable on this site as Flash Video. Please
ensure that you have Flash 8 or better on
your computer. You can get the latest
version of Flash here.
You
can also download the episodes as an MPEG-4
to your computer and watch them on the Desktop
using Quicktime or sync it to an iPod (and
potentially other portable video players).
Q.
I
don't have iTunes but wish to subscribe to
the Math Dude podcast. How do I
do that?
A.
You'll need to use the Math Dude RSS
feed.
All the information you'll need to
subscribe is located on our Podcasts
& RSS Feeds page.
Q.
Some
Algebra 1 classes are teaching the units
out of order. Since The Math Dude is
supposed to run concurrently with classroom
instruction, how will this be handled?
A.
Units 5 and 6 are being taught at the
same time by different classes. As
a result, The
Math Dude will have a new
episode each week for both units. That
way, classes that are now studying Unit
6 that will next study Unit
5 will have the Unit 5 episodes already
waiting for them, and vise versa.
After that, The
Math Dude will move on
to Unit 7. Then beginning with the new
school year, will cover Units 1-4.
Q.
Is
Algebra 1 the only subject The Math Dude
is going to cover?
A.
For the foreseeable future, yes.
However, there is the potential
that once all the Algebra 1 units have
been completed that The
Math Dude may
move on to cover other math related subjects.
Q.
Is
The Math Dude series available on DVD?
A.
Eventually, once all the episodes are
completed, our plans are to put
them all onto a single, interactive
DVD and supply each of our schools with
a copy.
In the meantime, copies of individual episodes
can be obtained by teachers through
the usual channels from the Film Library. The
format you wish to receive can be specified
in the request, including DVD.
