MSDE bylaw allows local school system to establish standards for employment higher than those required for certification. Employment contingencies are requirements imposed by MCPS that exceed those required for issuance of a professional certificate by MSDE.
If your records indicate that you have a local MCPS employment contingency, you must meet the requirement(s) by the date specified on your original employment information.
Reminders about local MCPS contingencies are sent to employees in the fall, spring and summer of each year by the Office of Organizational Develop (OOD). OOD offers courses, on a regular basis, that will meet these local requirements.
