EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides training to ELD teachers and school testing coordinators in the administration of the state mandated test of English language proficiency (ELP) Represents the Department of English Learners and Multilingual Education at county and state meetings on state assessments Maintains and access appropriate data bases and web based resources to monitor EML students' test scores, and progress Establishes and monitor processes to ensure the accurate identification, placement and exit of EML students via the Student Information System (SIS) Provides training and support to English Language Proficiency testing and achievement center staff at Rocking Horse Road Center Works collaboratively with appropriate staff in the Office of Shared Accountability to update, interpret, and share with teachers and administrators the latest accommodations information (guidelines) represented in the Maryland Accommodations Manual for students who are EML Works collaboratively with appropriate staff in the Office of Shared Accountability to collect and archive data on EML students' test scores and progress Shares ELP test data and other local, state, and national test data with schools to assist them with data analysis and the identification of appropriate strategies for inclusion in their school improvement plans Works collaboratively with the ELD Supervisor in identifying strategies for training teachers and administrators in preparing EML students for state-mandates tests Supports school teams in convening, conducting and completing accommodations documentation generated by ELD teams Collaborates with appropriate staff to analyze data collected through the SIS ELD module Collaborates with appropriate instructional specialists to provide training for ELD teachers on the SIS ELD module Performs related work as required.
