SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Under direction, provides a wide variety of supports to meet the needs of the system related to the following programs and initiatives designed under the auspices of the Office of the Chief Academic Officer (OCAO) to improve equitable outcomes for students; community partnerships designed to support the achievements of traditionally underrepresented groups; strategic and budget planning, and partnerships designed to increase international educational collaborations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of MCPS Policies and MCPS Regulations; and MCPS programs and initiatives. Ability to work effectively with principals, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders. Excellent writing, planning, organizational, management, and oral communication and human relations skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse set of institutions and MCPS offices to assess the effectiveness of partnership programs. Considerable knowledge and understanding of curriculum and instruction. Ability to acquire knowledge of and meet the six performance standards that have been established for the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Teacher Professional Growth System (TPGS).
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Masters degree preferred. Experience analyzing and interpreting data. Demonstrated success with applying data to create curricular and instructional practices to improve equitable educational outcomes. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Holds a current Maryland state standard and advanced professional certificate in a teaching area.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works with staff in the OCAO on projects, and initiatives designed to create equitable access to programs and curriculum, and monitors system wide indicators in this area.

Acts as the OCAO international host liaison for Ministry, and educational offices from around the world.

Supports the OCAO Executive Directors and other staff members in evaluating and planning program placement.

Coordinates and supports partnership work with organizations such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People; Identity, Inc.; and the Chinese American Parents Association.

Works in partnership with the Office for School Support and Improvement to provide support for after school activities for students from schools impacted by poverty.

Works with the Office of General Counsel on annual updates of A Student¿s Guide to Rights and Responsibilities in MCPS.

Works with the Office of Student and Family Support and Engagement on annual update of Code of Conduct in MCPS.

Responds to parent/guardian and student inquiries in the Office of the Chief Academic Officer.

Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
