SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION: Under direction, is responsible for the development and support of functional and technical processes for identified business systems. Engages with stakeholders in activities including mapping and measurement of business processes, gathering functional and technical requirements, testing, and delivery of business solutions. Serves as a liaison between functional and technical teams. Performs analysis, assessment, and planning activities to enhance and streamline the effectiveness and efficiency of business systems. Conducts ongoing data gathering and assessment to support user adoption of business system solutions. Provides for ease of use for users in accessing information with modern technology approaches. Applies knowledge of systems development methodologies and best practices in the implementation of business solutions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of the MCPS organization or large diverse system. Knowledge of business, technical and user processes is required. Ability to conduct and document business process mapping, develop measurements, and perform analysis. Ability to understand and conform to the techniques and procedures associated with the delivery and deployment of business systems, software testing, communications, and documentation methods. Ability to develop technical and user requirements for emerging technologies. Ability to test applications to ensure compliance with operational requirements to ensure completeness and accuracy. Ability to understand user needs and develop user requirements. Ability to work under severe time constraints. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as human relations skills. Excellent time management skills. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. High degree of professionalism which includes; attitude, work ethics, taking responsibility, personal incentive, lntra-organizational effectiveness, meeting deadliness flexibility, multitasking, and attention to detail.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree required. Five years or more experience in product support and deployment activities including business process management and measurement, change management, communications and training associated with new business applications and processes. Considerable experience in working with multi-member teams. Other applicable education, training, and technology support experience which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.
CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing.) Required to operate PC workstations for sustained periods of time.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: (Frequent overtime or night work required, etc.) Ability to work occasional overtime when urgent work requirements exist.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Meets with staff and stakeholder to gather requirements and document business processes associated with business systems.
Maintains and develops user friendly documentation to ensure proper use of an application.

Creates communication plans and material for business systems.

Participates in data gathering for assessing and analyzing the readiness of school and office staff for success use of new business solutions as well as enhancements.

Collaborates with leadership and project management team in identifying and supporting change agents in schools and offices.

Develops and/or analyzes user requests for enhancements and improvements for presentation to the Change Control Board.
Continually monitors and resolves application issues.

Participates in an on-going, self-initiated learning to maintain currency in business process management practices and emerging technologies and shares knowledge both formally and informally with others as appropriate.

Participates in meetings related to the update and enhancement of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP).

Interfaces with vendors and project managers who develops and/or implements ERP systems within MCPS.
Knowledge of and the ability to meet the seven core competencies of the Supporting Services Professional Growth System (SSPGS).

Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
