EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages and performs major automotive repair projects, including engines and transmissions, with the aid of students.2. Diagnoses automobile service needs, and calculates job repair costing and estimating.3. Places orders, takes delivery, and/or picks up materials from vendors to meet automotive repair needs upon approval from supervisor.4. Performs automobile repair in adherence to the automotive program schedule.5. Road tests repaired vehicles to ensure proper student-performed work, and collaborate with teachers regarding any additional service needed.6. Delivers and retrieves vehicles from inspection stations.7. Refuels vehicles, as needed.8. Communicates shop equipment and material needs with the ATF Instructional Specialist and the Foundations Office supervisor.9. Ensures proper maintenance and care of automotive technology and auto body equipment.10. Takes all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.11. Ensures automotive site readiness for instructional purposes.12. Works with the teachers to plan and provide instructional and/or development activities for students.13. Assists with teaching students basic automotive skills, and monitors other technical laboratory use under general supervision.14. Keeps teacher informed of student progress and learning needs for the development of the student employability profile.15. Assists teachers of all four ATF locations, as needed. 16. Utilizes instructional methods, resources, and evaluation techniques which motivates and enables each student to achieve learning objectives, as well as achieving automotive benchmarks.17. Provides information to assist the teacher in evaluation of the learning process, behavior management programs, individual student needs, and progress.18. Reviews and reinforces classroom lessons and learning experiences with students requiring individual or close attention.19. Monitors students engaged in independent work or similar activities while the teacher is otherwise occupied.20. Engages students by monitoring them with exciting hands-on activities.21. Supports the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). 22. Maintains confidentiality as it relates to student records, IEPs, student files, health information, etc.23. Helps maintain order and discipline and assists in managing the behavior of students, including crisis intervention.24. Assists Foundation Office staff in preparation of program events and activities.25. Interacts with the public with vehicle donations and vehicle sales, and the handling of its related paperwork and completion tasks.26. Assists the site manager in the development of automotive wholesale lists.27. Assists the site manager in vehicle donations, tag removal, and storage of vehicles.28. Continues assistant site manager duties during the summer to better prepare vehicles for the upcoming the school year.29. Collaborates with Foundation Office Supervisor on ideas to improve the automotive program.30. Maintains and improves professional competence.31. Participates in department management and sharing responsibility for the total Foundation Office programs.32. Performs related duties as assigned by the Foundation site manager and supervisor.
