Services Coordinator, Judy Center |

| Under direction, the Services Coordinator (case manager)
will be responsible for seeing that parents receive
the variety of services they determine they need through
programs at the Judy Center. The Services Coordinator
will convene and/or attend meetings with parents and
others about child development or educational situations
that need improvement. The Services Coordinator will
work with the Montgomery County Child Care Resource
and Referral Center (MCCR&R) to create the inventory
of services and information for the Judy Center service
area as the first step in creating the county-wide clearinghouse.
The Services Coordinator will work with the Judy center
partners to create and promote a calendar of parenting
information events and activities.

| Through knowledge of child growth and development.
Knowledge of public and private early childhood providers
and agencies. Knowledge of parent education programs
and other related programs in early childhood, psychology,
health, coping, and special needs. Ability to design
parent training programs. Excellent oral and written
communication and human relations skills.

| Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
or university in education, early childhood, adult education,
or psychology; course work in parent and adult education
and child development; experience in teaching or administering
adult, parent education or parent-child education programs.
Master’s degree desirable. Other combinations
of applicable education, training, and experience which
provides the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary
to perform effectively in the position may be considered. |

| (Frequent overtime
or night work required, etc.) Flexible schedule to include evening and weekend parent
outreach. May be required to work evenings to meet deadlines
or to attend Board of Education, committee, PTA, Steering
Committee, Collaboration Council, or other meetings. |

Provides information, referral, and support to county
parents, individually and in groups.
Works with other Judy Center and Health and Human Services
staff to provide training and support to special needs
parent groups.
Insures that cross-training and consistency of content
occurs between parents and other early childhood educators
and professionals.
Convenes and/or attend meetings with parents and others
about child development.
Create the inventory of services and information for
the Judy Center service area.
Serves as liaison, resource, and/or consultant with
other county agencies providing services to parents
and young children.
Performs related work as required. |
