SUMMARY DESCRIPTION OF CLASSIFICATION:
Under the general direction of program supervisors, the Data Management Coordinator designs and maintains databases for the collection, analysis and dissemination of student/instructional data to program supervisors, consortia and school administrators. The Data Management Coordinator enters data into and extracts data from databases and prepares reports for use by administrators. The Data Management Coordinator develop forms, letters, surveys and notices to gather data as requested by supervisors. The class uses software, such as Microsoft Office and Filemaker Pro, to analyze data and to develop spreadsheets, reports and presentations that provide formative and summative data useful in evaluating and improving programs and student placements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
Working knowledge of desktop computers and common software including word processing, database, spreadsheet and presentation software. Knowledge of data analysis techniques and strategies sufficient for analyzing student data. Some knowledge of common office equipment. Demonstrated ability to present data analysis results to staff. Ability to work with students, teachers and school leadership staff demonstrating these core competencies described in the Supporting Services Professional Growth System: commitment to students, knowledge of job, professionalism, interpersonal, communication and organization skills, and problem solving competencies.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of AA degree or equivalent training including some exposure to data systems. College-level coursework in computer science, statistics and data analysis preferred. Some experience working with children and adolescents, preferably in a school or other instructional setting. Experience using word processing, presentation software and spreadsheets to generate reports and to make presentations. Knowledge of analytical software and basic statistical analysis. Experience with data entry procedures using a PC or other data entry terminal. Knowledge of Consortia and Accelerated and Enriched Education initiatives. General knowledge of school curriculum. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience, which provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position, may be considered.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing.) None
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: (Frequent overtime or night work required, etc.) Position requires operation of keyboard devices and personal computers for sustained periods.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Designs and maintains databases for the collection of data needed by school consortia offices or Accelerated and Enriched Education Initiatives.

Inputs, downloads, organizes, and analyzes student data from the Student Information Management System.
Develops and prints reports on student data. Suggests relationships between data trends, curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Proficient in the use of computer applications, presents information to staff.

Responds to data requests from administrators. Designs and conducts presentations of data and associated data analysis to school, school system and community groups.

Provides training to administration, staff, students, and community.

Participates in training to remain current on data sources, data analysis techniques and strategies for developing and conducting presentations.

Serves on/interacts with school leadership teams to promote the continuous improvement of instruction.

Performs related tasks.
