| On June 1, 2005 the superintendent approved a new Interim Regulation FAA-RA, Long-Range Educational Facilities Planning. This interim regulation will implement the recently revised Policy FAA. A workgroup will be formed to review the regulation over the upcoming school year. |

| On May 10, 2005, the Board approved the new Policy GAA, Positive Work Environment in a Self-renewing Organization. This new policy delineates the critical elements required in order to create and maintain a positive work environment in a self-renewing organization. |

| On November 9, 2004, the Board of Education approved the revision of Policy AEB, Strategic Planning for Continuous Improvement. The policy reflects the school system's strong commitment to strategic planning for continuous improvement in order to provide an effective instructional program, ensure success for every student, strengthen productive partnerships for education, and create a positive work environment in a self-renewing organization. |

| On February 24, 2005 the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation BOA-RA, Management of Legal Services. This regulation was revised to implement Policy BOA, Legal Services. |

| On July 29, 2004, the Board of Education approved the revision of Policy CNA, Informational Material and Announcements. The policy defines the types of materials that may be made available to students and parents either through backpack distribution or a community interest table at the schools. |

|

| On December 20, 2004 the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation CNA-RA, Display and Distribution of Informational Materials and Announcements. This regulation was revised to align with Policy CNA. |

| On December 14, 2004 the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation COF-RA, Intoxicants on MCPS Property. This regulation was revised to reflect current practice. |

| On January 10, 2005 the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation EIC-RA, Student Accident and Football Insurance Program. This regulation was revised to update offices and reflect current practice. |

| On June 13, 2005 the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation EIF-RA, Worker’s Compensation Insurance and Personal Property Loss. This regulation was revised to update offices and reflect current practice. |

| On May 23, 2005, the Board approved the revision of Policy FAA, Long-Range Educational Facilities Planning. This policy was revised to delineate the Board's commitment to a long-range educational facilities planning process that addresses changing enrollment patterns and sustains high quality educational programs, while continuing extensive opportunities for input from parents and the public throughout the process. |

| On April 25, 2005 the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation FFA-RA, Naming Schools. This regulation was revised to update offices and to align with Policy FFA, Naming School Facilities. |

| On March 4, 2005 the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation GBF-RA, Notification and Assistance in Event of the Death of an Employee/Retiree. This regulation was revised update offices and to include retirees in the regulation. |

| On November 3, 2004 the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation IGK-RC, Acquisition and Disposal of donated or Purchased Vehicles for Career Development Education Programs. This regulation was revised to update offices and reflect current practice. |

| On November 9, 2004, the Board of Education approved the revision of Policy IJA, School Counseling Programs and Services. The policy conveys a vision for school counseling that is aligned with national standards, incorporates effective best practices, and supports the academic achievement of a diverse student population. |

| On October 14, 2004 the superintendent approved revisions to Regulation IPD-RA, Travel-Study Programs, Field Trips and Student Organization Trips. This regulation was revised to update offices and reflect current practice. |

| On January 27, 2005 the superintendent approved the rescission of Regulation ECE-RA, Requests for Maintenance Work. Information contained in this regulation is obsolete. |

| On January 27, 2005 the superintendent approved the rescission of Regulation ECF-RA, Visits of Maintenance Crews to Schools. Information contained in this regulation is obsolete. |

| On December 22, 2004 the superintendent approved the rescission of Regulation EDD-RA, Equipment Repair. This regulation was rescinded because there are already procedures in place for submitting requests for the equipment in question making the regulation redundant. |

|

| On March 8, 2005, the Board approved the rescission of Policy FBC, Modular Construction in School Facilities. The subject matter outlined in Policy FBC does not rise to the level of a policy issue. The Board of Education retains authority to consider individual modular construction decisions as a part of its review of the Capital Improvements Program. |

|

| On April 25, 2005 the superintendent approved the rescission of Regulation GDB-RA, Protection of Employees, Students, and Property. The regulation was rescinded because the information detailed in the regulation is also contained in the Negotiated Agreements. |

|

| On February 8, 2005, the Board approved the rescission of Policy GEA, Appointment of Professional Personnel. The development of an overarching policy on issues concerning human resources renders this policy obsolete. |

|

| On February 8, 2005, the Board approved the rescission of Policy GEB, Position Sharing. The policy contains a regulatory structure for position sharing. This narrow issue does not rise to the level of necessitating a policy statement. Additionally, the development of an overarching policy concerning human resource issues empowers the school system to make decisions such as position sharing based on the evolving needs of the school system. |

| On February 8, 2005, the Board approved the rescission of Policy GJA, Employee Performance Evaluation. The provisions of the policy are out of date, given the work the school system and employee organizations have done to develop a professional growth system. The critical elements of the professional growth system will be codified in the new overarching human resource policy. |

| On February 7, 2005 the superintendent approved the rescission of Regulation HJA-RA, Recognition and Negotiation Procedures of the Montgomery County Education Association. The information detailed in this regulation is contractual language that, appropriately, is contained in the contract between MCPS and MCEA. |

| On February 7, 2005 the superintendent approved the rescission of Regulation HJB-RA, Negotiation Procedures and Rights of MCCSSE, of the Board of Education, and of Supporting Services Employees. The information detailed in this regulation is contractual language that, appropriately, is contained in the contract between MCPS and MCCSSE (SEIU Local 500). |

| On March 8, 2005, the Board approved the rescission of Policy JPE, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS/HTLV-III Infection. The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has jurisdiction over school health services and has policies and regulations in place to address this topic. Additionally, there is a regulation that governs control of communicable diseases in schools, including AIDS. |
