The mission of the Department of Technology Consulting is to assure the successful integration of technologies that support student achievement and workforce excellence, facilitate the identification of needs that can be addressed through technology and to educate stakeholders on how MCPS leverages technology.

Conducts staff training on technology use on system-wide applications to support teaching and learning; supports school improvement plans with proven technologies, collects feedback on systems and provides it to the appropriate department and/or division; collaborates with MCPS offices and schools to identify needs for which technology solutions can be applied; reviews and purchases software and online services; and develops, distributes, and supports interactive distance learning.
