Morning Announcements
11/6/2009

Good morning,

All 7th and 8th graders interested in trying out for the Baker Basketball teams:
You have only one week to turn in your paperwork!!
You may not try out if you do not have a current physical on file.  If you have any questions see Mr. Standford.

Baker's first ever 3 on 3 Tournament was a huge success last week! With over 60 students signed up and participating, the gym was packed and great basketball was played during the two day tournament. Mrs. Schwaderer would like to thank everyone who came out and played. Special congratulations go out to the three teams who took their grade level championships: In the 6th grade, in 1st place were The Funky Towns-team members included Jake Funk, DaQuan Grimes, Jacob Bradshaw, and John Billig. In the 7th grade bracket, the winners were the Allstars, La'Kye Alston, Jeff Keene, Wayne Scott, Rodney Vinson, and Daviante Butler. In the 8th grade bracket, the winners were Team Nerd, consisting of Joseph Daniel, Austin Brown, Jay Barnes, and Cody Hill. Thanks again to everyone who came out. Hope to see you next year!

The after school intramurals will be offering our annual table tennis championships on November 17th and 18th.  All grade levels are able to participate and we will be running a singles and doubles tournament!! You may sign up in the locker rooms or see Mr. Standford for more information!

Registration Forms for the Rec Extra Science Alive club are still being accepted. This is a wonderful opportunity for those of you who enjoy doing hands on activities. Come and explore Science through observation, inquiry & active participation! Conduct hands-on experiments with Rockets, Lasers, Plants and more! Handle Dinosaur Eggs, Footprints, & Other Artifacts from around the world. Please stop by room 109 during Bull Dog time for a flyer and registration form. This club will meet in room 206 starting Thursday, Nov. 5th. We need at least 12 students to register and attend. Please contact Mrs. Burdette, if you have any questions.

Have a good day at Baker, where “We Rock!”
