Community Service

Every year Bannockburn students have the opportunity to participate in Community Service projects. Working with teachers, parents and volunteers, students gain a greater awareness of the community they live in. In return, their activities make a meaningful contribution to the surrounding community.

2005 Homeless Mini-Walk

Bannockburn students participated again this year in the Mini Walk for the Homeless on October 20, 2005. All students walked, skipped or ran around the Bannockburn field during their recess on the 20th to raise $2225.73 for the homeless programs in Montgomery County. They were joined by faculty members, Mrs Bosnic, parents and Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless representatives. Third grade students met in their classes with a County Representative and learned in more depth about the needs in our community. during recess on October 11, students made some beautiful posters to advertise the walk , and encourage their classmates to join in the effort to raise money for the homeless people of Montgomery County.
