Book Fair
The Book Fair is a PTA function held in the school gymnasium during the second week of November. It is open during the school day overlapping Parent/Teacher Conferences and one evening; in conjunction with Craft Night. The Book Fair is an opportunity for parents and children to review and purchase quality books in a non-threatening environment.
About | Book Fair
There are three principal co-chair positions in the coordination of this activity: Book Coordinator (contact of the book supplier), Financial Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. All of these roles are pivotal in the presentation of a smoothly run Book Fair.
Book Coordinator, is responsible for coordination of the layout of the books, tables and all displays; from arrival, through set-up, the actual Book Fair, knock-down and pick-up of the unsold books.
Financial Coordinator is responsible for all financial matters through-out the fair. This person also coordinates the final matters with the PTA treasurer.
Volunteer Coordinator, is the person responsible for "manning" all of the various activities of the Book Fair. This position is largely accomplished in the weeks prior to the Book Fair. Volunteer names are collected from the coupons that PTA sends out early in the year and internet announcements.
