Topic : Our favorite activities at school and home. Weather.

Objectives : Students will be able to

• Conjugate basic Russian verbs
• Express the objects of actions
• Express likes and dislikes
• Express alternatives
• Engage in conversation about leisure time activities
• Present basic information about preferred activities and weather

Essential Structures :

• Genitive of personal pronouns
• Accusative case of inanimate nouns
• Verb conjugation

Topic : Clothing. Sightseeing.

Objectives : Students will be able to

• Discuss basic clothing and colors in context of weather and activities
• Describe clothing to listeners
• Be specific about likes and dislikes

Essential Structures :

• Possessive adjectives
• Noun/adjective agreement with color adjectives
• Dative pronouns

Theme : Family Life.

Topic : Family. Home. Food.

Objectives : Students will be able to

• Exchange basic information about family and pets
• Present information about family members and relationships
• Exchange, present information about homes, rooms and furnishings
• Demonstrate an understanding of food preferences and eating habits

Essential Structures :

• Interrogative pronouns
• numerals
• adjectives that name colors
• prepositions of location

Assessments :

Students will be evaluated on their performance on quizzes, tests, homework and daily participation in classroom activities.

There will be opportunities for reassessment consistent with B-CC policies.

Such opportunities will be offered within an instructional unit. The teacher will provide at least one reassessment opportunity per task. All students may be reassessed, regardless of grade on original task, if they meet the following requirements: complete the original task, complete required assignments, and complete reteaching activities, as determined by the teacher.

Students must show evidence that they have made an attempt to relearn the material before taking the reassessment. For example, students could:
     • Come to the teacher for extra help
     • Complete practice assignments
     • Make corrections on the original assignment


90% of the marking period grade will be based on formative and summative assessments, which may include homework, class work, quizzes, unit tests, projects, oral presentations, writing assignments.

Assignments checked only for completion, such as homework, class work, oral practice, will account for 10% of the marking period grade.

Grades will be based according to the following:

A= 90-100%
B= 80-89%
C= 70-79%
D= 60-69%
E= 50-59%
