Topic : Friendship.

Objectives : Students will be able to

• Share opinions and feelings about friends and friendship
• Express thanks
• Describe an interaction with a friend
• Express refusal and confirmation
• Express concern or worry
• Reassure someone

Essential Structures :

• Prepositions with the Dative case
• Formal/Informal structures
• Adjective-Adverb relationships
• Comparatives, possessive pronouns

Topic : Family Life, Celebrations, Traditions.

Objectives : Students will be able to

• Describe the personal qualities of family members in detail
• Discuss relationships with family members
• Talk about someone’s recommendations
• Express wishes
• Express a supposition

Essential Structures :

• Negative constructions
• Adjectives of nationality
• Comparative and superlative constructions with adjectives
• The neuter singular of ordinal numbers in dates
• The Genitive of dates in answering the question WHEN?

Assessments :
Students will be evaluated on their performance on quizzes, tests, homework and daily participation in classroom activities.

There will be opportunities for reassessment consistent with B-CC policies.

Such opportunities will be offered within an instructional unit. The teacher will provide at least one reassessment opportunity per task. All students may be reassessed, regardless of grade on original task, if they meet the following requirements: complete the original task, complete required assignments, and complete reteaching activities, as determined by the teacher.

Students must show evidence that they have made an attempt to relearn the material before taking the reassessment. For example, students could:
     • Come to the teacher for extra help
     • Complete practice assignments
     • Make corrections on the original assignment

90% of the marking period grade will be based on formative and summative assessments, which may include homework, class work, quizzes, unit tests, projects, oral presentations, writing assignments.

Assignments checked only for completion, such as homework, classwork, oral practice, will account for 10% of the marking period grade.

Grades will be based according to the following:

A= 90-100%
B= 80-89%
C= 70-79%
D= 60-69%
E= 50-59%
