Grading and Assessment:
Your grade is made up of 3 parts
     • In Class Assignments: 80%
     • Projects: 20%

To calculate your grade, first average your class assignment percentages, then your computer program percentages, and then your projects. Then do the following arithmetic:

.8 x class assignments + .2 x projects

Note: Due to the cumulative nature of this course, any student earning a 1st quarter grade of a “C”, a 2nd quarter grade of an “E”, and an “E” on the final exam will receive an “E” for their final semester grade.

Class Expectations and Procedures:

  1. You are expected to be in your seat and working when the tardy bell rings. If you aren't, and you do not have a note, then you will be charged with an unexcused tardy. Three unexcused tardies equal one unexcused absence, five unexcused absences equal loss of credit for the course.
  2. Materials: You are expected to have the following items with you in class everyday
    •  Binder/Notebook
    •  Graphing calculator
    •  A pencil
    •  Handbook
  3. Unless it is a real emergency, you will not be allowed to leave the room during class. Make sure you use the bathroom and get your materials before the tardy bell rings.
  4. If you are absent it is your responsibility to get the homework assignment:
    • You should have phone numbers for at least three people in your class so you can call them to ask for the assignment.
         • Name: _______________________________ Phone #: _________________________
         • Name: _______________________________ Phone #:
  5. _________________________
         • Name: _______________________________ Phone #: _________________________
  6. When you get back to school, you need to check the handout folders and pick up any handouts that you missed. You are responsible for making up all work and letting me know when it's completed. Homework should be made up in a timely fashion.
    • If you are absent the day before an assignment is due, you will still need to turn in the assignment on the assigned day. If you are absent on the day the assignment is due, you will required to turn it in the day you return to school during class, at lunch, or after school.
  7. There will be no food or drinks in class.
  8. Calculators are to be used for math purposes only. Any teacher has the right to reset them or confiscate them if they are being used inappropriately.
  9. Music players and Cell phones will not be tolerated in the classroom. If a student is seen using one of these devices it will be confiscated and parents will be notified.
