Grading and Assessment:
• Tests: 50%
• Quizzes/Projects/Classwork:
40%
• Homework: 10%
A test will be given at the end of
each unit; quizzes will be given periodically to check progress
in mastering unit topics. Unit tests will not be reassessed. Longer
units may have a mid-unit test as well.
Note: Due to the cumulative nature
of this course, any student earning a 1st quarter grade of a “C”,
a 2nd quarter grade of an “E”, and an “E”
on the final exam will receive an “E” for their final
semester grade.
Class Expectations and
Procedures:
-
You are expected to be in your
seat and writing when the tardy bell rings. If you aren't,
and you do not have a note, then you will be charged with
an unexcused tardy. Three unexcused tardies equal one unexcused
absence; five unexcused absences equal loss of credit for
the course.
-
Materials:
You are expected to have the following items with you in class
everyday –
• Paper
• Graphing calculator (TI-83 or 83+)
• A pencil
• Handbook
-
Homework must be turned in on
time. Please have your work out when I come around to check
it, or you will not receive a stamp. You must show
work for every problem!
-
You may only leave class for
emergencies. Make sure you use the bathroom and get your materials
before the tardy bell rings.
-
If you are absent it is
your responsibility to get the homework assignment:

-
When you get back to school, you
need to check the assignment sheet and pick up any handouts
that you missed. You are responsible for making up all work
and letting me know when it's completed. Homework should
be made up in a timely fashion. Late homework is not accepted
for any other reason except excused absences.
- If you are absent the day
before a test, you will still take the test on the assigned
day. If you are absent on test day, you will take it the
first day you are back in school at lunch or after school.
-
There will be no food or drinks
in class except bottled water.
-
Calculators are to be used for
math purposes only. Any teacher has the right to reset them
or confiscate them if they are being used inappropriately.
