To calculate
your grade, first average your test percentages, then your quiz
percentages, and then your homework/computer grades. Then do the
following arithmetic:
.5 x tests + .3 x
quizzes + .2 x homework
Academic
Dishonesty
This applies to both written work and oral presentations. Examples
of academic dishonesty include, but are not limited to, the following:
the willful giving or receiving of an unauthorized text, unfair,
dishonest, or unscrupulous advantage in academic work over other
students using fraud, duress, deception, theft, trickery, talking,
signs, gestures, copying, or any other methodology.
Plagiarism:
- Submitting or
presenting another person's work as your own without proper
documentation, including downloaded information from the Internet
and lab data.
- Using another
student's material without prior approval.
Cheating:
- Giving or receiving
information during a test, quiz, and/or class work assignment
without teacher authorization.
- Using hand signals,
gestures, and the like during tests or quizzes to obtain/give
information.
- Using unauthorized
materials during a test or quiz.
Class Expectations
and Procedures:
You are expected to
be in your seat and working when the tardy bell rings. If you
aren't, and you do not have a note, then you will be charged with
an unexcused tardy. Three unexcused tardies equal one unexcused
absence; five unexcused absences equal loss of credit for the
course.

have the following items with you in class everyday

• Binder/Notebook
• Graphing calculator
• A pencil
• Handbook
- Unless it is a real emergency, you will not be allowed to
leave the room during class. Make sure you use the bathroom
and get your materials before the tardy bell rings.
- If you are absent it is your responsibility to get
the homework assignment:
• Homework should be posted to the homework homepage by
2:15. However, the school network is not error-proof, so you
should have phone numbers for at least three people in your
class so you can call them to ask for the assignment.

- When you get back to school, you need to check the handout
folders and pick up any handouts that you missed. You are responsible
for making up all work and letting me know when it's completed.
Homework should be made up in a timely fashion.
• If you are absent the day before a test, you will still
take the test on the assigned day. If you are absent on test
day, you will take it the first day you are back in school at
lunch or after school.
- There will be no food or drinks in class.
- Calculators are to be used for math purposes only. Any teacher
has the right to reset them or confiscate them if they are being
used inappropriately.
- Music players and Cell phones will not be tolerated in the
classroom. If a student is seen using one of these devices it
will be confiscated and parents will be notified.
