Dear Instrumental music
parents and students:
As
the music department has continued to grow over the last several years,
so have the expenditures increased to run a quality program. Due to the increased enrollments of
the instrumental ensembles, it has been necessary to rent certain
large instruments as well as maintain the repair and upkeep of all
the school’s musical instruments.
Publishers of sheet music continue to increase their costs
on an annual basis. The music department must also pay an
entrance fee for the county sponsored music festivals.
In order to
continue to provide the high quality program to meet the needs of
all students, it will be necessary to charge a lab fee for all students
enrolled in instrumental music for next year.
A fee of $40.00 per year, or $20.00 per semester, will be assessed
for all instrumental music students.
This fee will help cover instrument repairs, sheet music, method
books, sectional coaches, folders, and festival registrations.
Transportation
to events will still need to be covered individually for each performance. In addition, concert attire will also
be required by all students. Students
in the Pep Band, those students registered for Symphonic and Concert
Band, will be required to purchase the Pep Band T-Shirt,
flip folder, and lyre. For
your convenience, if you would like to pay for all of these expenses
at this time, you may do so by checking the
different fees at the bottom of this letter.
(This would make bookkeeping a lot easier!)
As
with many arts programs, financial support is often sparse due to
the costs and stature of academics and athletics.
In order to maintain a high quality music program, it takes
a tremendous amount of money to sustain this level.
If, after paying for the various fees, you would like to make
an additional donation to the music department, we would be very grateful
for your support. Any amount is acceptable.

mail or tear off the bottom of this page and send your check payable
to B-CC Music as soon as possible.
