Bio:
A native of Cuba and Spain, Gustavo Alonso-Moreno taught
at the Heights School in Potomac for seven years as well
as classes at Georgetown University and Montgomery College
before coming to B-CC this year.
Mr. Moreno, who has lived in the U.S. since 1985, received
a B.A. in Spanish language and literature from the University
of Maryland and an M.A. from the Universidad de Salamanca
in Spain.
Mr. Moreno is teaching Honors Spanish 5A, Spanish 5 IB
and AP Spanish Literature/7 IB. He is also sponsor for a
B-CC student club addressing Latin American issues and culture.
When he isn't teaching, Mr. Moreno, who is married and
owns a pit bull, spends his time reading and fixing cars.
He is also an experienced handyman in a variety of construction
trades. Of his new school, Mr. Moreno says simply, "B-CC
is (in my opinion) the best school in Montgomery County."
