Bio:
Daniel Engler says he loves teaching because, “Every
day I get the opportunity to grapple with an author’s
understanding of the human condition. Through literature
we look for meaning in life. To share that meaning is powerfully
exciting.”
Mr. Engler’s other love is rowing on the Potomac.
He is the head rowing coach at the National Cathedral School
in Washington, DC.
A graduate of Ithaca College, Mr. Engler has a BA in English
Education (1996) and an MS in Exercise Science with a Sport
Psychology concentration (2001). He taught for two years
in a tiny New York town called Waverly before moving to
Maryland and teaching at Arundel High School in Anne Arundel
County for three years, then at B-CC starting in the fall
of 2005.
“B-CC is a great school with excellent parent support
and involvement, amazing resources, and intelligent faculty.
It is a great place to teach and I look forward to being
here for many years to come,” says Mr. Engler.
A native of Poughkeepsie, New York, Mr. Engler grew up on
a horse farm. He now lives in Bethesda with his wife of
six years and their dog.
