Bio:
Mrs. Feldsott was born and bred in New York City
but is now “almost a native” of the DC area, having lived
here for 31 years. She attended both Brooklyn College and
the State University of New York at Buffalo.
After graduation, she married and moved to the
Maryland suburbs. Her career path has been diverse, beginning
with ten years of employment with the U.S. General Accounting
Office. She was first a Budget and Accounting Analyst and
then moved into Management Analysis work, where she honed
her skills in workflow studies, forms development, and organizational
management. After becoming a mother, Mrs.
Feldsott left the government to create a home-based interior
decorating business that won numerous industry awards for
sales and leadership.
In the 90’s, Mrs. Feldsott decided it was time
to change careers again, and she went to work for MCPS to
be on the same schedule as her children. She worked at Travilah
ES as an ISM Aide, Robert Frost MS as a School Secretary,
and finally came to to B-CC this past summer.
During her years with MCPS, Mrs. Feldsott guided
her own children through the maze of college and graduate
school admissions and became very knowledgeable on the subject.
As others came to her for advice about their own children’s
college and career choices, they suggested that she turn
her interest into a vocation – thus she became a College/Career
Coordinator. She is thrilled to be at B-CC, helping to guide
students and their families, through the confusing world
of college and career choices.
When she is not at B-CC, Mrs. Feldsott spends time
emailing her own children, who all attend schools out of
state, and getting used to the quiet of her “empty nest”
with her husband. She loves to read, cook, watch movies,
and entertain friends and cannot wait to travel to all the
countries on her “must see” list (AFTER her children’s education
is paid for!)
