Hunter Hogewood joined the B-CC staff last year as the new
Social Studies resource teacher. Dr. Hogewood has been teaching
for 15 years. He teaches primarily 9th grade US History
although he has taught NSL, World History and AP US History
during his career. Dr. Hogewood received his PhD from the
University of Maryland in 2004 and he teaches a class at
UMD for undergraduates interested in teaching social studies.
Before coming to Maryland, Dr. Hogewood taught in New Jersey
and in his home state, the great state of North Carolina.
He grew up in Charlotte, NC and he received his undergraduate
degree and his Masters in the Arts of Teaching from Duke
University.
Hunter and his wife, Jamie have two children. Rebecca 6,
(B-CC class of 2018) will be a 1st grader at Rosemary Hills
Primary School and Abigail 3, (B-CC class of 2021). He enjoys
spending time with his family, working in his yard, running,
cheering for the Duke Blue Devils basketball team and playing
with his dog, Daisy.
