Bio:
Grew up in Ukraine and Russia. Gold Medal student at Specialized
English Secondary School for linguistics in Ukraine. Attended
5-year double-degree course at the Moscow Institute of Languages,
graduating in 1983, earning Bachelors and Masters in Russian,
English and German Languages. In Russia worked as an Intourist
English/Russian translator and interpreter. After coming
to the U.S. in 1989, worked as an interpreter and translator
on projects for NASA, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department
of Agriculture, University of Nebraska and Texas A&M
University, among others. Qualified for Maryland Advanced
Professional Certificate and designated by MCPS as highly
qualified in Russian. Has taught Russian at B-CC since 2003.
