Bio:
An experienced teacher, Ms. Lynch has taught in an independent
school, and is now in her 9th year with MCPS. She came to
B-CC primarily to teach IB Chemistry.
A transplant from western Pennsylvania, Ms. Lynch has
degrees from Johns Hopkins and Maryland; her strongest attachment,
however, is for her undergrad school, Duke. She admits to
organizing a bloc of Duke fans at B-CC, warning that they
will be "a force to contend with."
One of the advantages of teaching is having your summers
off-and, for Ms. Lynch, being able to visit her daughter
serving in the Peace Corps in West Africa. This experience,
in addition to being "the most enlightening and exciting
trip" she's ever taken, taught her the importance of being
fluent in other languages. Her daughter, who speaks three
languages, has "a real advantage in today's world."
