Attendance Policy during Final Exams:
Students are required to attend school only
if they have a scheduled exam.
Students who do not have a second exam scheduled have the
option of leaving immediately after the first exam, and
students who do not have a first exam scheduled have the
option of arriving late, but they must arrange their own
transportation.
There is NO on-line attendance during exams. However, if
a student is absent for a scheduled exam, he/she must bring
in a parental note to the teacher in order to schedule a
make-up. It is the responsibility of the student to contact
the teacher in order to schedule a make-up time for any
missed exam(s).
Exam make-up days for Semester 1 are at 10:30 a.m.
on January 17, and 7:30 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. on January
18. Exam make-up dates for Semester 2 are from 10:30
a.m. June 13 through June 14, the last day of school
for students.
Transportation during Final Exams:
MCPS buses run at the normal morning and
afternoon times during the final exam period, so students
who choose to arrive late or leave early because they don't
have a scheduled exam must provide their own transportation.
Students who are in the building during exam times but not
taking an exam must go to the Media Center for quiet study
time. Students who are in the building after exam times
must report to the cafeteria for a supervised study hall
until regular dismissal time, 2:10pm.
Inclement Weather
during Final Exams:
If there is a delayed opening, exams will be moved to coincide
with the delayed starting time. For example, for a a two-hour
delay, the final exam schedule is 9:30 - 11:40 (first exam),
11:40 - 12:05 (lunch), and 12:10 - 2:10 (second exam).
If school is canceled, the final exam schedule will resume
the next scheduled school day.
