2007 Record: Boys 4-1, Girls 2-3: The 2007 B-CC boys team won the Maryland 3A State Championship at Hereford HS. The Barons edged out second-place Wilde Lake of Howard County by a single point, 89-90.
Dylan Straughan was the top B-CC finisher, coming in fifth, but in a true team effort, each of the top four Barons came in just seconds ahead of their competitors from Wilde Lake, and the two teams were separated by just four seconds in total time. Wilde Lake had won the title the past two years. On the girls' side, B-CC came in 13th, with Addie Tousley finishing an impressive third.
The final coaches poll ranked the B-CC boys third in the state, behind only 4A champ Quince Orchard and 2A champ River Hill. B-CC started out the season unranked. Moving from unranked to 3rd
in the state is no small accomplishment! Their final ranking is a tribute to their hard work and
successes.
In the 3A West Regional Championships at Watkins Mill HS in Gaithersburg, the B-CC boys took first place, with five runners in the top 10, to become 3A West Regional Champions! The girls placed third, and junior Addie Tousley won the 5K run by more than 40 seconds!

The B-CC All-Sports Boosters purchase a silver engraved star for the student-athlete that the coach has designated as the example of sportsmanship on his/her team. It is given not only for hard work and personal improvement, but also for a willingness to understand, to learn, to enter into a partnership with the coaches and teammates in an effort to recognize one’s full potential. At the same time, this person has taken an individual sport to its highest team level by consistently placing personal goals subordinate to the team’s needs and goals. The 2007 winners were Laura Keeling and Walter Beller-Morales.
