The B-CC All-Sports Boosters purchase a silver engraved star for the student-athlete that the coach has designated as the example of sportsmanship on his/her team. It is given not only for hard work and personal improvement, but also for a willingness to understand, to learn, to enter into a partnership with the coaches and teammates in an effort to recognize one’s full potential. At the same time, this person has taken an individual sport to its highest team level by consistently placing personal goals subordinate to the team’s needs and goals. The 2007-08 winner for ice hockey was Matt Kaplun.

B-CC skated to a 3-3 tie in regulation and a scoreless 10 minute overtime period, losing in a shootout to Linganore in the MSHL state quarterfinals on Feb. 19. 14 seniors played their last high school hockey game, and 13 players will return.

The team thanks the many fans who supported the players, attended games, and sent well wishes. Our special thanks go to our team faculty adviser, Pete Flynn of the Math Department, to Mrs. Lockard, whose chicken soup comforted a feverish player last year and whose TLC and support helped several others, and to Mr. Bulson, who also came out to some of our games.

After 10 division games B-CC finished in second place (to eventual state champ Wootton) in the MSHL Montgomery East Division. The Barons scored 59 goals and allowed 14. In individual statistics, Ben Pounds is the team's points leaders with 22, while Kerry Goebel is the top goal scorer with nine.

The Barons' goalie, senior Ryan Haughey, was chosen by the league's coaches to the All-MSHL first team. Ryan was also named to the All-Conference team, along with junior forward Kerry Goebel, the team's top goal scorer.
