GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Attention all 10th grade students: Friday, November 20th, will be our next MYP meeting day. All 10th grade students are expected to meet with their mentors. The bell schedule is as follows.

B-CC's annual Canned Food Drive is this week, from November 16th - 20th!
Canned foods will be collected at each entrance before school, and can be placed in a collection box in the main office throughout the day.
All donations will be given to the Capital Area Food Bank, which is"committed to uplifting those in need" and "helping those who are without the means to help themselves." Please visit:

We are encouraging every B-CC student to donate at least two cans. If we all participate, we can ensure that fewer families will be hungry this winter. Thank you for your support. (SGA)
There is a Freshman SGA meeting TODAY, November 20th, during lunch in Room A224. (Robinson)
The International Club will be holding a Bake Sale on Tuesday, November 24th, in the main hall. (Zolkower)
The Classes of 2010 and 2011 are holding a supply drive for a school in Liberia (www.peaceedu.org<http://www.peaceedu.org/>). Please donate any and all school supplies, gently used books, and gently worn warm weather clothing to a drop box in Ms. Rizas' Room - A412. 1 SSL hour will be rewarded for every 5 items donated. Report cards that were not picked up in AU (Homeroom) on November 11th are now in the Counseling Office with Ms. Goltz.
You may come and pick up your report cards before school, during lunch, or after school. Please do not come during your classes.
The report cards will be available thru Ms. Goltz until November 20th at no cost.
After November 20th, you will be able to get a copy of your report card thru Ms. Peebles in the Registrar's Office, but there will be a charge of 10 cents for the copy
B-CC's Quidditch Club will have open tryouts for teams on November 21st, on the B-CC fields, at 11:00am. Bring your brooms for our Muggle Quidditch tryouts. For more information, join the Facebook group. Play is by inter-collegiate rules. We have an awesome time! (Vigeant)
Winter Parking Permits will be available starting Monday, November 16th - Friday, November 20th at the school financial window. Permits will only be available before school, at lunch and after school for students who have been approved. The approved list is posted outside the financial window. (Bettis)
Chips is BCC's award winning literary magazine. It features BCC students' writing, art, photography, and music. Seniors: Transcript sign-in times are before and after school and during the student lunch. We have an open-door policy for all students at those times.
MVA students: Students who are 15 years and 9 months that want the Learner's Permit School Attendance Certification form to be completed by the counseling office must print the form from the MVA web site, hand it in to Room A204 complete with signatures and the student ID written at the top of the form for processing. There will be a 48-hour turnaround time. (Peebles)
Students - Did you forget your homework? Or your lunch? If you need to call home for missing homework or a forgotten lunch, do not use your cell phones - phones are available in the Main Office for your use to call home, if necessary, for these or other items. Please check in the Main Office whenever you're expecting an item to be dropped off. Items cannot be delivered directly to students, so if you're not sure whether something has been dropped off, please check the Main Office. (Davis)

B-CC Fall Awards Night 2009
Fall Awards Night Information for Athletes -
Things to Know:
* Fall Awards Night is Monday, November 23rd at 7:00pm in the Auditorium
* ALL Athletes are expected to attend
* If you choose not to attend, you will not receive your awards. There is an appeal process. See Ms. Thom if you cannot attend.
* You must dress nicely for the ceremony. Guys should wear khaki pants and a nice shirt - preferably with a tie. Ladies should look nice - dress or skirt or dress pants.
* No sneakers, hats, jeans - we want all athletes to look sharp as we celebrate a great season.
* You are expected to be respectful throughout the entire ceremony.
MCPS CHEERLEADING COMPETITION:
The B-CC Cheerleaders will be competing on Saturday, November 21st, in the MCPS Cheerleading Competition held at Blair High School. Seating is limited; therefore, tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are just $4.00. The #1 seeded Girls Varsity Soccer team will compete for the 4A State Championship against #4 Urbana HS on Friday, November 20th at 5:00pm. The game will take place at U.M.B.C. Please purchase "pre-paid" tickets by visiting the MPSSAA web site and clicking on the BUY TICKETS link.
Attention all athletes interested in participating in the BCC Football program for next year: there will be a meeting at 11:00am on Tuesday, November 24th, in the Main Gym. (Noland)

The school store located across from the main office is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after school from 2:10 - 3:00 p.m., stop by to grab a quick snack, a cool drink or to purchase BARONS Merchandise! The school store accepts cash and checks only, sorry no credit cards.
