General Announcements

Junior and Senior SGA will be holding a Powder Puff football game on Friday May 16 after school at 3:00 PM.  If interested, please sign up with one of your officers, weather permitting.

Be sure to watch It’s Academic this Saturday, 10:30 am to see BCC in the play off match.

The BCC Student Directed One Act Play and Film Festival will take place this Friday May 16, and Saturday May 17 at 7:30 in the auditorium.  Tickets are available at the door.

HSA Testing, May 19-22: for English, Biology, Algebra, and Government will begin the week of May 19th.  Students taking the Algebra exam are encouraged to bring a calculator.  Any student taking a HSA will need to report to school at 7:25 AM, while those not taking the test, need to report at 11:00 AM for lunch and afternoon classes.  There will be an adjusted afternoon schedule Monday – Thursday.  Additionally, buses will be operating on a regular schedule.  Non-testing students arriving to school before 11:00 AM must attend a supervised study hall in the cafeteria.  For more info, please check the BCC homepage at

National Art Honor Society Any student interested in joining, please see Ms. White in B127 for an application, any day during lunch.

Auditions for BCC’s Jazz Ensemble will take place May 27 through June 3.  Musicians that play the sax, trumpet, trombone, guitar, bass, piano, and drums may audition.  Sign up for audition times are on the band room door E008.  Please see Mr. White for the packet or check the BCC Music Webpage for more info.

CLASS ANNOUNCEMENTS

• Senior Class:
  -Before graduation, you are obligated to fill out the MSDE survey, the BCC High School Family Connections survey and give the counseling department a stamped/addressed envelope (with your name in the upper left corner) for your final transcript to be sent to the school of your choice.
  -Senior Class Elections sign up will take place everyday, before, during lunch, and after school, in room C215.  If you are interested in running for any office please come and sign up.  The deadline is May 13th.

SPORTS/TEAM ANNOUNCEMENTS

Dance Team/Poms try outs for start this week, so please see Ms. Dawson in C306 before then.  No previous dance experience is required.

COLLEGE/CAREER NEWS:

College Tracks will meet Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 8:30PM at The Coffield Center.  Also College Tracks for 2007-2008 will be held in the Career Center every Monday – Thursday during lunch and after school Tuesday from 2:15 – 4:00 PM.

SPECIAL CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS

All recently announced clubs will always be posted on the bulletin board, outside the main office. The only time clubs will be announced, if it is for an event within the club, or the announcement of a NEW Club.  New clubs will be announced on MONDAY’S ONLY.  Please check the bulletin board for your club time and location.

NOTE: Students who are expecting a delivery should check the pick-up desk in the main office between classes or during lunch. If you called someone to bring you homework, papers, books, clothes, lunch or other items, it is your responsibility to check the pick-up table. (Please call home from the main office. Do NOT use your cell phone during school hours.)  *Items not picked up within a timely manner will be disposed of.
