Treasurer Lucy Swartz reported that our budget is in good shape with expenses still coming in and reminded us all to bring in receipts as soon as possible. The books close on June 30th. We will have some extra money left in the budget to start the Fall of 2005..thanks to the most successful Used Book Sale ever! The balance expected will be $35,000. The administration has asked us to purchase a poster printer which costs $4,000. As a general rule, we usually like to spend our money each year and not hold onto large savings for the next year. Next year we will need an audit of our books and will be looking for a CPA to do the job. The Giant program is in place for next year...is it too labor intensive?? The general consensus in the room was to continue the program because it does make about $10,000 per year.
Debbie Friedman and Nancy Eickel announced there will be a Dinner Theater, student directed Agatha Christie play on Sept. 18th, 2005. The Fall play will be Urinetown. They will be looking for more help with set construction next year.
Peggy Robbins and Karen Degerberg reported that the After Prom party was a success with about 400 kids in attendance. It was held at B-CC this year, from 1:30-5:30am, and had many activities including a full casino, mechanical bull ride, bungee run, oxygen bar, food, and prizes. The kids were well-behaved and seemed to have a good time. About 150 kids were still at the school at 5:30 a.m. when the major prizes of Ipods, TV with dvd player, and portable dvd player were given out. Chris Orlando, Sean Bulson, and the assistant principals all attended the party and were seen having fun! There were about 60 parent volunteers that helped through the morning.
Charlotte Fremaux, MCCPTA rep, briefly discussed the state of the new grading policy with help from Nancy Leopold. It is still all in a state of flux with each school doing their own variation. A new homework policy is about to come out. Stay tuned.

Sandra thanked all her committee heads, volunteers and the B-CC community for a great year. Charlotte Fremaux then presented Sandra Ostrach with a certificate showing that the PTSA bought a brick in her name for the B-CC courtyard. Thank you Sandra for a job well done.
