Prior to the meeting, a welcome reception was held for new parents from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.
Business Meeting
In attendance were Principal Sean Bulson and Staff Development Teacher, Stacy Dimmick- Farrar, the PTSA officers, and many parents.
PTSA President Carole Brand called the business meeting to order at 7:30 pm
and introduced the other members of the PTSA Executive Board:
Vice-Presidents: Susan Kitt, Ann Gerhart
Secretary: Deborah Dokken
Treasurer: Lucy Swartz
Cluster Reps: Charlotte Fremaux, Peggy Schwartz
MCCPTA Reps: Alice Burr, Sarah Beck
NAACP Rep: Donna Atkinson
Treasurer Lucy Swartz introduced the 2005-2006 budget and the ambitious goal
of raising $70,000 this year to support a variety of academic programs and support
as well as communications. Both Lucy and Carole Brand emphasized the importance
of PTSA fundraising efforts as well as dues and contributions from parents.
A motion to approve the budget was made and seconded. All members in attendance
voted in favor; none voted against. The motion was passed.
Program
Following the brief business meeting, Carole Brand introduced Stacy Dimmick-Farrar,
the Staff Development Teacher, who outlined the evening’s program: a game
of “PowerPoint Jeopardy.” Through this lively format, parents (in
Blue and Gold Teams) reviewed important information about B-CC High School in
the following categories:
1. Data
2. Academics
3. Students
4. Funding
5. Grab Bag

President Carole Brand reminded parents about upcoming events:
Open House Day, October 10, 2005
Parents are invited to visit the school and classrooms throughout the day.
Next PTSA Meeting, October 18, 2005
The program will focus on the new grading policy.
