GET PUBLICITY FLYER

The PTSA Used Book Sale co-chairs would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this weekend's sale. The final tally is not in, yet, but rest assured that the PTSA will remain in the black and can continue to support all B-CC students and their families.

To our donors – thank you for your generosity and support of B-CC and its students. We have a reputation for having superb books. This year was our best collection ever!

To the local community – thank you for coming to the sale and loading up bags and boxes with books. Your enthusiasm made all the heavy lifting worthwhile! We also thank all the local business sponsors who supported the book sale with bookmarks, artwork, boxes, and food.

To B-CC Buildling Maintenance – thank you Freddie, Curtis, and crew for enduring many weekends of trash, cardboard, reluctant light switches, and especially, for helping us this past weekend. Freddie Harris proved some can work two days without a break. And all the while with a smile!

To B-CC Staff and Teachers – our appreciation for your support of the book sale. Linda Beach and Jeff Kenton provided invaluable help with logistics. Melissa Roller, Karen Lockard and Paula Tobery were always there when we needed them. The English, Art, and Music departments granted our every wish.

To our parent volunteers – we cannot adequately thank the legions of parents who oversaw publicity, posted flyers, sorted books, served as cashiers, manned the café, hoisted heavy loads, searched frantically for boxes, then worked to recycle them. We especially want to recognize a very special group of parents (and alum parents!) who started back in October and sacrificed a lot of weekends organizing our donations and sale displays of books. You are truly the backbone of the book sale.

Finally, to our B-CC (and Westland!) student volunteers – thank you for being the public face of our book drops, for contributing your musical, artistic and creative writing talents to the sale, and for doing more than your fair share of lifting. Several athletic teams (football, lacrosse, and gymnastics), ESOL students, and dozens of others helped prepare for the sale AFTER team workouts (!), worked tirelessly during the sale, and helped clean up even on their day off from school. We especially want to acknowledge the incredible contribution of the
Barons Football Team. With Coaches Allen and Foreman, these young men started moving boxes of books on Friday and didn't stop until the last one was transported from the basement to the cafeteria (1400 in all!). We didn't hear a single complaint.

The PTSA is looking for new leadership and new opportunities. Please support an organization that supports the entire student body. It has been a singular pleasure to work with so many members of the B-CC community.

With thanks,

Amanda Manheim, Peggy McIntosh, Stephanie Rigaux and Linda Wolpert
