Grace's Turn

***** Great! I would recommend it to my friends.

Grace DiGiovanni has two dreams: to be a member of the A-list at her school and to become an actress in a Broadway musical. Her first dream comes true when she begins dating the high school quarterback. Then she is chosen to be the lead in her high school's musical production of "Grease" which is being directed by a Broadway director. The director is so impressed with Grace's talent that Grace is invited to audition for a real Broadway play. The story was very interesting because it was about a girl with whom we can relate. It is a story about a girl who is able to reach her goal.

I love this book. You could never guess the ending of this  book from the start. This book is about Tally going on an adventure to find Shay and betray her, so she can become pretty. (When you turn 16 you get an operation to become pretty.) Since the moment I picked up this book I couldn't put it down. I personally would have done exactly what Tally did if I were in her shoes. I RECOMMEND THAT EVERYONE READS THIS BOOK!!

The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big Round Things

**** I am glad I read it.

In The Earth, My Butt, and Other Big round Things by Carolyn Mackler, we meet a very self-conscious teenage girl. Her best friend moved to another state and she has started eating in the bathroom stalls. She constantly puts herself down for being overweight and thus doesn't want to look at herself in the mirror. She thinks she is not perfect enough for her family. We see her struggle to find herself as a person , to fit in the family, and to make new friends while maintaining old friendships as well. I'm not going to say everyone can relate, but you still feel greatly involved in the problems.

Stravaganza: City of Stars

**** I am glad I read it.
Stravaganza: City of Stars by Mary Hoffman is a story of an imaginary place with duchesses, dukes, fortune tellers, magic, mystery nd intrigue. This story is a sequel to the 2005-06 Black-Eyed Susan nominated book, Stravaganza: City of Masks. In this story, Georgia is living between contemporary London with her conniving step-brother, Russell and 16th century Talia, where she is reunited with a former crush, Lucien (and she thought he was dead!) Although the story drags in places, I was captivated enough with the plot to forge on 'till the end. Hoffman does a good job of showing the reader that things are not always as we presume--sometimes bad people are not always inherently evil & sometimes good deeds do not always have happy endings.

This book was awesome! I loved every part of from being sad about Carmen's situation to hoping that Lena falls in love with Kostos to Tibby and Bailey making a movie to Bridget falling for her camp coach. I was a little disappointed at the end, but overall it was a very nice book. And I am saying all this without watching the movie yet, although i plan on watching it this weekend.
