Midnight Madness

Help kick off this years' basketball season this Friday night at Midnight Madness. WPGC DJ Rico will be hosting the event. Meet the varsity teams, participate in fan games . . . free giveaways and prizes. . . performances by the cheerleaders, step team, poms team and drum line. 3 point contest and Dunk contest.
Doors open at 9:00 p.m. Presale tickets will be on sale in the school store for students this Thursday and Friday for $2.00. Tickets at the door
will be $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults.

Support the Drama Department

The Drama Department will be raffling off a 2009 Toyota Prius for help raise money to send our Drama Department's production of RENT: School Edition to Edinburgh, Scotland in August 2009.
The drama department will only be selling 800 tickets at $100 each. Until 1/1/09, they will be selling tickets to the Winston Churchill High School community exclusively; after that, they will be open ticket sales to the public. 11/17/08

Leadership Opportunity: Are you an ex-smoker? Are you or anyone you know trying to quit smoking? YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
QWYA (Quit While You Are Ahead)coalition, a countywide youth support & education group invites you to join them at their KICK ASH FORM AT DAVE & BUSTER'S on November 22, 2008. For registered participants there will be a free buffet, raffle prizes and power cards. Come meet other teens who have quit or trying to quit: help plan new events, make a video, join their support group, educate younger children & teens about the effects of smoking, etc.

The Class of 2009 will celebrate their graduation on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at DAR Constitution Hall.

The National Art Honor Society and the Visual Arts Academy are taking an after school excursion to the Phillips Collection in DuPont Circle. If you are interested in visiting the oldest modern art museum in the country, see Mr. Dermont for an international form. Currently on exhibit is the Migration Series by Jacob Lawrence and a new work by Christo and Jeanne-Claude. 10/14/08
