We visited Homestead Farm in Poolesville, Maryland.

We rode in school busses to the farm.

We learned the difference between hay and straw from our tour guide.

   
We took a tour of the farm.  Our tour guide told about each of the farm animals.

 
After visiting the farm animals we took a straw ride to the pumpkin patch to choose our pumpkins.

We each picked a pumpkin we could carry.

Then we took a straw ride back with the pumpkins we picked.

We ate a picnic lunch before returning to school.
