Welcome to the Darnestown

Elementary School

Media Center

Mrs. Tamah Graber, Media Mpecialist

Mrs. Meryl Bernstein, Media Assistant

The Darnestown School Library Media Center is open daily from 8:30-3:45.

Our goal is to support the instructional program at Darnestown, to foster a love of reading and a love of learning, and to implement a research program designed to support the curriculum at all levels.

All classes have books exchange every other week. Students in grades K-2 meet with Mrs. Graber weekly.  Third through fifth grades meet for special research or media classes or read alouds as needed. Students may check books out during their class book exchange time or at any other time during the day with permission of their teacher. Kindergarden students may check out one book at a time and must return them within a week. First graders may check out two books, but they are due the next week.   Grades 2-5 may check out two books or one book and one magazine. Magazines and picture books are due in one week. Chapter fiction and non-fiction are checked out for two weeks.
