Wee Deliver

Wee Deliver is an in-school postal service.  It allows students and staff to communicate with one another by writing letters which are then delivered on a weekly basis by our fourth grade Wee Deliver employees.

At the beginning of each school year, teachers and students agree on a street address for their classroom.  Non-classroom based staff also decide on an address for the school year.  Mrs. Bach creates a directory including all the addresses for everyone at Diamond.  Fourth grade students who are interested in working for the Wee Deliver program are assigned jobs for processing and delivering our mail.  We have thirty-five employees who work in teams. Teachers spend some time reviewing correct letter formation and how to properly address an envelope. Then the fun begins! Students begin writing letters which are placed in a large blue mailbox outside Room #13.  The mail is delivered once a week, usually on either Thursday or Friday.  The teams are kept very busy.  Some weeks we have over one hundred letters!

Encourage our students to write letters to friends and staff members.  Family members may join in the fun by writing letters and dropping them off with either Mrs. Grundy or Mrs. Hodgson who will give them to Mrs. Bach.
