Media Center Reading Celebration - Read in the Wildest Places!

Students are invited to join a school wide celebration of reading. In 2007, we broke 5000 for the first time. In 2008, we did it again by reading 5,489 books in 3 months! Here is how our celebration works:

  1. Each student reads age appropriate books of his/her choosing. Books read for class book reports may also be counted.
  2. The student completes a brief report on each book read by filling out a "Tally Sheet" and putting it in the Reading Celebration can in the classroom. Get additional Tally Sheets here!
  3. Each classroom works as a team. Tally sheets will be collected and totaled at the end of each month. There will be a winning class at each grade level for April and May. The winning class will be determined by the greastest ratio of books to number of students in the class to compensate for uneven class sizes.

The winners will be listed below and on the Media Center bulletin board in the school. Watch our progress! Who knows what reward we will find?
