The third Monday in January marks Martin Luther King Day, a U.S. holiday that honors King's legacy and challenges citizens to engage in volunteer service in their communities.

 

Hey Titans, do you love to sing? Come and audition for the school's a Capella group this upcoming Tuesday or Thursday in room 192 at 11:20. The sign-up is on the door of room 192. Contact Mr. Smeallie or Jessica McCarthy for more information. 

 

Frostburg State University will be visiting the Career Center on Wednesday January 17th, at 7:50am. Frostburg Offers: hands on opportunities, personal attention, amazing technology, and academic excellence. The college representative will provide students who are interested with applications, and will waive the application fee, if you choose to apply.

Attention Titans we will be having a canned food and blanket drive to recognize MLK service week! Please bring in both canned goods and blankets to the boxes located outside the cafeteria between January 16th-24th. Items will be donated to Shepard's Table. On Wednesday, January 24th come after school from 2:45- 5 to help pack and organize the donated items and earn SSL hours and spirit points for your grade! Pizza will be provided to those who help! Please come to Mrs. Moore's room to sign up.

 

The WEB Du Bois induction ceremony will be Thursday, January 25th at 6:30pm. Du Bois members, there will be a meeting on Thursday, January 18th during the first half of lunch to finalize the induction program. Please contact Ms. Moore if you are unable to attend either event. Thank you

On Friday, January 19th at 6:30 PM Einstein will be hosting Emmanuel Jal, a South-Sudanese musician, actor, author, motivational speaker, political activist, and former child soldier. Jal is internationally recognized for his incredible work to bring peace to the South Sudan and other violence-stricken areas. Tickets to watch Jal's performance can be purchased at the door for $5.

Please take the opportunity to learn from the personal experience of such an inspirational story.

 

The Key Club will be selling Hot Chocolate out side the gym on Main street before and after school throughout the month of January.  The cost is $1 per cup!

ATTENTION SENIORS: the due date for senior dues has been extended to January 31st.  Senior dues are $50 and can be paid by cash or check to Mr. Nappo in Room 154.  After January 31st the price of senior dues will increase to $60, so pay them now before the deadline. 

 

Attention Class of 2021! We will be meeting every Wednesday during lunch in room 260. We will be discussing Freshmen spirit, fundraisers and general Freshmen related business. Please see Mr. Colwander for more details.

 

All Girls Who Code Members and those still interested in joining us, please meet Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Norris every Wednesday, after school from 2:45 - 4:15pm, and every Thursday for lunch and more in LAB 134!

 

All techies and gamers interested in coding competitions, game design, animations, original app designs, cybersecurity, and much more. Please meet Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Norris in LAB 134, every Thursday at lunch to explore and tap into other areas of tech, gaming, and programming.

Students this week we will continue our YMCA after school program. Board games, card games, and Xbox one games will be readily accessible. SNACKS WILL BE PROVIDED.!  Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. 

 

French tutoring is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 28 during lunch.  French Honor Society members will be present to assist students.

 

The Spiritual Club wants to help you work on your soul and spirit and welcomes all belief systems, so please attend the meeting on Wednesday in room 150, from 2:40- 3:30pm.

 

There will be a meeting of THE CHRISTIAN CLUB, at lunch EVERY Friday in room 263.  All those interested in the relevance of Christianity are welcome to attend.
