Sixteen Einstein High School students have been recognized by the Maryland Distinguished Scholars program, and two will be offered scholarships to attend a Maryland college or university.
Visual arts students Casey Drogin and Michelle Richmond were named finalists in the annual program, and are among 373 finalists named statewide. Drogin and Richmond will be offered an annual scholarship of $3,000, renewable for three years, to attend a Maryland institution. Einstein drama student Awate Serequeberhan and instrumental music student Samantha Suplee were two of 512 students named statewide as semifinalists. Semifinalists may be offered a scholarship not used by a finalist.
In addition, twelve more students received honorable mention recognition for their academic achievement and/or talent in the arts. They are Reshma Crawford, Natalie Daronco, Laura Fisher, Milton Garcia, Meredith Giblin, Chandler Hill, Benjamin Jonas, Aaron Kuhn, Kamilya Lapp-Kamara, Jiayi Li, Benjamin O'Toole, and Miriam Stevens. Samantha Suplee also received an honorable mention for academic achievement.
