Principal's Message for May
The month of May has arrived - this school year is quickly coming to an end. May brings warmer weather, field trips, Field Day, and a continued focus on making each and every day count as a productive day of learning.
As the weather gets warmer, walking home with friends rather than riding the bus may seem preferable to students. Please know that a child is never permitted to make this choice without written permission from a parent. Additionally, students may not ride busses other than the one to which they are assigned. Each of these precautions is in place to make sure all our students arrive home safely.
Please take a look at the calendar for upcoming end of the year activities. Field Day will be held from 9:30-12:00 on:
• Wednesday, May 30 for students in grades 3-5
• Thursday, May 31 for student in grades K-2.
These days will be filled with great outdoor fun, sun and sportsmanship.
As we begin to think about summer, we realize it is critically important for all of our students to maintain the growth they have made in reading and math this year. The only way to do that is to READ, READ, READ AND PRACTICE MATH SKILLS throughout the summer!
Finally, we want to thank all the students, parents, and teachers who joined together to make our annual Student Showcase a great success. The showcase included poetry readings, writing exhibits, math & science displays, games, and art work! It was a great night for families to celebrate the hard work and talents of our students.
