Welcome Back to School!

Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year!  Ms. Brewer and I are thrilled to serve the Flower Hill community as your school’s administrators for another year.  We look forward to working with you and the entire staff of Flower Hill Elementary School to help each child reach their full potential.

We had a busy summer as our building housed a Regional Summer School Program.  This summer we were also busy hiring some new staff to Flower Hill.  Please join us in welcoming new member to our full time staff.  We have a new building service manager, Ms. Theresa Schwartzbeck, as well as a new cafeteria manager, Ms. Patty Zahn.  We also hired a new fourth grade teacher, Ms. Allison Bohan and a new resource teacher, Ms. Shari Kottler.  We have three new paraeducators as well:  Ms. Ball, Ms. Vollmer and Ms. McNally.

As we begin this year we have a few friendly reminders to help with the safe operation of our school:
Visitors – Visitors must report to the main office to sign in and receive a visitor’s pass each time they visit.

Morning Drop Off – Parents should drop their students off at the curb near the crosswalk if they are bringing students to school.  For the safety of our students, please do not attempt to enter the parking lot one the patrols have set up the cones at the entrance to the driveway.

After School Pick Up – Once again, for the safety of all our students, please do not attempt to enter the school parking lot once the patrols have set up the cones.  Additionally, please do not park in the handicap parking space unless you have a handicap parking permit.

LunchThis year, students will be having lunch after recess.  If your child is buying lunch, please be sure that their lunch account has sufficient funds.

Wednesday Folders – Please check your child’s Wednesday folder each week and carefully read the information sent home by their teacher.

Back to School Night is September 11 at 7 pm for all grades.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks, as always, for your support.  We look forward to a wonderful school year!
Sincerely,
Mr. Lamar Whitmore, Principal
Ms. Dina Brewer, Assistant Principal
