Technology
Since the 2004-2005 school year, Gaithersburg Elementary School has had a technology teacher. Students attend computer lab weekly as they would art, music or P.E. This allows classroom teachers to have 4 common planning times each week! Activities range from using internet sites and standalone CD's for kindergartener's to using Excel and PowerPoint for 5th graders. Lessons combine technology standards from the Voluntary State Curriculum and Montgomery County Public Schools math, reading, writing, science and social studies indicators.
