
If you haven’t already, get your Family Connection account set up and familiarize yourself with what’s available to you on that website. Know your cumulative GPA, weighted and unweighted. You can find this information on your Family Connnection account. Click on About Me, then under Official Things, click on Profile and scroll down to Academic Info. Meet with your counselor. Be sure this happens by the end of May. Your counselor will call you down but if it doesn’t happen by mid-May, make an appointment by filling out the online form.
Meet with Ms. Sliffman in the College & Career Center. Stop in or call her at 301-840-4723 to make an appointment. You need to meet with her by the end of the summer.
Begin to think about what colleges or trade/technical schools interest you. Plan to visit schools you are considering. (Need help organizing your thoughts about college visits? Look here.) Think about the application process and start to organize your materials.

Focus on your college search. Continue your research both online and by visiting. Be sure you have met with Ms. Sliffman. You may find the following documents helpful in this effort:
Begin working on applications and essays, where possible. Some applications and essay topics will become available over the summer.
If your brag sheets aren't completed, do so now. Be sure they are in by the first day of school.
Take time now to be sure you have your Family Connection login and password written down or remembered. Enter your colleges and track your application deadlines. Once you've begun the application process, you can check to see when your transcripts and other materials were mailed. You can build your resume using Family Connection and also brainstorm about career paths. Your test scores and cumulative grade point average are also available under "About Me", "Official Things", click on "Profile" and scroll down to "Academic Info."
